How to Clean a Burned Pan

A burned pan is a burden for you. And I know how hard it may be to clean that silver burned pan that you usually use especially when you do frying. You’ve tried your best and you tried all the home remedies that you think can remove that burnt residue in your pan. Sometimes, the harder you try to eliminate it and still no progress is observed, you thought of giving up the pan and just throw it in your trash pin. But why not try to use this procedure may be this can help your burden.

Things you need to prepare:

  • Sharp knife
  • Lemon juice – rich in citric acid
  • Apples – rich in citric acid
  • Warm water
  • Detergent
  • Steel brush
  • Salt
  • Bowl

Steps:

  1. Fill at least ¼ cup of warm water to your pot. Set the stove to medium heat.
  2. Add a cup of lemon juice, apple slices, and salt.
  3. Stir the mixture and bring to boil.
  4. You can add water occasionally to the mixture.
  5. Cover tightly.
  6. Stir occasionally so that the mixture will not stick to your pot.
  7. After an hour, pour your mixture to your empty bowl.
  8. You will see that the citric acid from your apples and lemons will melt and loosen the burn of your pot.
  9. By using your knife, scrape those residues that are not loosened.
  10. Get your steel brush and detergent soap. Scrub the bottom of your pot.

In cleaning your burned pan, make sure that you will not destroy the consistency and functionality of your pan. Apples and lemon juice is advised because it has high content of citric acid that is good not only to loosen up the vestiges but also it can remove the oil and odor from your pan.
