
Keeping your crock pot clean can be a challenging task especially when soiled food penetrates on the lining of the pot. Knowledge on the cleaning procedure is important so as to keep your pot function at its best and to prolong its life.
The things that you will need are hot water, bowl, mild liquid soap, clean old towel, warm water and sponge or cotton cloth.
Here are the steps in cleaning crock pot:
- Unplug any electrical connections to avoid getting burned. Allow the crock pot to cool for several minutes.
- Wash the pot with warm water and mild soap. Rinse it thoroughly with warm water.
- Get a bowl and pour in hot water. Add your mild liquid soap and stir with a spoon.
- Pour your hot soapy solution inside the crock pot. Allow the solution to soak for 10 to 15 minutes.
- After soaking, scrub the surface of the pot using a sponge or a cotton cloth. You can also use a nylon scrubbing pad in brushing off soiled and scorched food.
- If there are still dirt left, get another bowl and fill in ¾ cup of warm water. Add a cup of white vinegar into the bowl and stir.
- Pour the vinegar solution inside your crock pot. Plug your pot and cook the solution for 1 to 2 hours.
- Allow the solution to cool down and use a sponge in scrubbing dirt particles.
- Remove the vinegar solution and wipe the crock pot with an old clean towel.
- Allow the pot to completely dry before using.
- Place it in its proper place if desired cleanliness is achieved.
Avoid using steel wool in scrubbing your crock pot as it can scratch the surface. Abrasive cleaning solution should also be avoided as it can damage your crock pot.
