- Unplug any electrical connections.
- Check your DLP TV if it has a screen shield. TV shield is made up of a protective plastic that is much simpler to clean than those without screen shield. You can touch the screen using your fingertips. TV screen shield is rigid and hard while TV without screen shield is soft.
- Wipe your TV screen using a dry microfiber cloth. Begin at the top left going to the other side of the screen. Make certain to apply gentle pressure as DLP TV screen is very delicate. Do not attempt to touch the screen with bare hands as you can only add dirt and smudges on the area.
- For stubborn dirt particles, moisten your microfiber cloth with distilled water and gently scrub the area.
- For DLP TV screen without a shield, use a suitable cleaning solution for DLP screen. You can purchase this solution from your DLP manufacturer or at electronic shops. DLP cleaning kit comes with a lint free cloth and approved cleaner that is safe to use for delicate TV screen. Read the manufacturer’s guide in using cleaning kit.
- Avoid using too much liquid solution on the screen. Make sure to remove excess liquid by squeezing the cloth.
- Wipe your TV screen with a dry microfiber cloth and allow it to completely dry.
Do not attempt to clean your DLP TV screen with ammonia or alcohol base cleaner as it can leave spots on the screen and cause dryness. Advise your children not to frequently touch the screen to prevent smudges on the surface.
