Cleaning Tips, Carpet Cleaning and Cleaning Business Information
Cleaning a freezer is not a household chore you need to do because your husband requires you to do so. It is more than that; remember that cleaning them will help you maintain a good safe environment for food storage. The freezer is one of the areas that are greatly neglected because some think that it is clean cold and fresh inside.
Before learning the steps, it is right for you to gather all the necessary equipment needed in cleaning. These are:
Do this step systematically by pulling out the ones within your reach first. Fill a pail with ice so that you can temporarily transfer the meat in to a close-to-freezer temperature. If you have lots of meat in store, you may ask a favor from your neighbor to put your chunks of meat to their fridge.
Some freezers do not get a great build-up of ice. If you have this type, proceed to step 3.
After the freezer is emptied, never forget to unplug the cord. Keep the door of the fridge opened when defrosting to allow easy removal of ice. The length of the chore depends on the size of the fridge and amount of ice build-up. Never leave your refrigerator when doing the chore or else you would get a pool of water on your floor. Instead, always give an eye to the ice that is already a bit loose.
Since you already have removed all the ice, now is the time to clean the different areas of the fridge. You may have all ice debris removed in the bottom of the appliance first. Then, use vinegar or any disinfecting agent to clean all odor forming areas, rinse it with the use of warm water. If you wish to wear gloves you may do so. Clean also the exterior part of the refrigerator like its door and sides using a wet rag. If you see mildew formations clean it with the use of a toothbrush.
You can start deodorizing your appliance now! First, scrub the area that has a lingering bad odor with a rag damped with baking soda and water. You may have this done in a weekly basis.
Using your dry towel immediately wipe the outside and inside portion of the freezer. Wash also the drawer of the freezer with water and pat dry thereafter.
Systematically do this step by segregating stuffs properly (putting together all meats, vegetables in the same manner too). Finally, you may also have a check list to ensure that nothing is left out of the fridge.
