How to Clean Apple Laptop Screen

Apple products are widely distributed in various continents of the world. They are known to produce stylish and hassle-free devices. Apple brands are also popular for their quality and quite expensive products most especially their laptops that come with an OSX operating system. However, obtaining an expensive Apple laptop also entails proper cleaning. Regular maintenance and proper cleaning should be implemented so that your money will all be worth it.

Cleaning a laptop screen is synonymous to cleaning an LCD screen of personal computer but laptop screens are highly sensitive and it entails an adequate cleaning procedure. There are many available wipes and cleaning solutions for intended for laptop screens that you can easily purchase in various stores. But if you want to save money, you can use alcohol and water as an alternative.

The needed materials are Apple laptop, rubber mat, clean cotton cloth/ Anti-static cloth/ Lint-free lens cleaner, laptop screen cleaning solution, isopropyl Alcohol, distilled water, and cotton swab. Below are the easy steps in cleaning an Apple laptop screen.

Step 1
Place a rubber mat on the table where you would like to do the cleaning process. Gather the needed materials. Make sure to unplug your laptop before the cleaning. As soon as the monitor is turned off, this makes you easier to identify the dirt or fingerprints present on the laptop screen.

Step 2
Get the clean cotton cloth and carefully wipe the screen including the frame to remove any dust particles. Clean cotton cloth is also effective in removing fingerprints on the laptop screen.

Step 3
Get another clean cloth and blot it with small amounts of laptop screen cleaning solution. If you do not have a cleaning solution, get the isopropyl alcohol and the distilled water then mix the alcohol and the water in a small container just enough for cleaning the laptop screen.

Step 4
Again, have the clean cloth blot with your solution and start wiping the entire portion of the laptop screen.. It is ideal to use an upward-downward gentle motion so as not to scratch the laptop. You can also start at the left part into an upward and downward motion to the right side of the laptop screen.

Step 5
Start cleaning the frames of the laptop including the edges using the 50/50 alcohol and water mixture. You still use cotton cloth with this part. Carefully wipe the area and avoid spilling the solution. Remember that the cotton cloth should be not too wet.

Step 6
For the finishing touch, use a dry cotton cloth to wipe off the laptop screen and allow it to completely dry.

Some laptop store suggests using ammonia or an ammonia-based solution but this is not an ideal chemical for laptop cleaning as it may cause permanent damage to the laptop screen. If you’re familiar with the cloth used in cleaning an eye glass, it can also be used as a cleaning tool for laptop screen. Do not use any rough cloth or dirty cloth as it may scratch and add further dirt to your expensive Apple laptop screen.
