In addition, Apple mouse is more expensive compared to other brands. Proper cleaning should be imposed so that you won’t have to buy another expensive mouse for your laptop.

Cleaning a mouse is an easy cleaning job that you won’t have to smack your mouse all over again in order for it to work. The needed materials are easy to obtain. These are rubbing alcohol, rubber mat, cotton swab, mild soap and clean cloth.

Here are the easy steps in cleaning an Apple mouse:

  • Put the rubber mat on the table where you will do the work.
  • Carefully remove the mouse ball while continually connecting the mouse to the computer. Observe the mouse and locate the balls by turning it upside down. Loosen the mouse ball with your fingers in a counterclockwise motion until the ball drops out. Also, make sure to catch the ball upon trying to loosen it. Allow it to drop onto your hand.
  • With the mouse turned upside down, start wiping the roll sensors. If you happen to observe, this sensors are the ones adhere the mouse balls. You will find a wheel and two sticks similar to toothpicks in thickness.
  • Get the rubbing alcohol and blot it in a cotton cloth. Rub the cotton cloth into the mouse sensor and wheels to remove any underlying dirt and debris. Wipe the different corners of the mouse’s hole and allow the mouse to dry for at least 10 minutes or until completely dry.
  • The next thing to clean is the mouse ball. One thing to note when cleaning a mouse ball is to avoid any solvents. Simply clean the ball by washing off the dirt using a damp soapy cloth.
  • After cleaning the rubber ball, let it dry with a clean cotton cloth.
  • Get the other parts of the mouse and reassemble it carefully by turning it again upside down and put the rubber ball in place in a clockwise motion to lock the ball in place.
  • Set the mouse in its appropriate pad. Try to test the mouse and get back to work!

You have to regularly clean your Apple mouse because dirt can easily penetrate in the rubber balls. One thing to note is to avoid any strong chemicals as it may damage the mouse ball. Most stores with available Apple accessories suggest using ammonia or an ammonia-based solution. But this is not an ideal solution because of its ill odor and it is also considered as a strong chemical for laptop accessories.
