How to Clean Ashley Microfiber Couch

Microfiber couch is an expensive and very comfortable couch. This type is made of durable materials that last longer. Once you sit there, you will feel like you want to sleep. It has a soft and wide sitting capability that makes visitors feel very relaxed and comfortable while waiting for you. An Ashley microfiber couch is a kind of sofa that has a good quality, which is easy to maintain. A couch that is made of microfiber can be easily cleaned. No need for you to worry when dust and dirt resides on its corners because there are some tips on how to clean your microfiber couch ;

  • First thing to do is to check on the tag of your microfiber couch’s package or at the back of it. You will see that there are two symbols that are “S” and “W”. This is very important because you will know what to use when cleaning. If you see an “S” on the tag, it means that your couch can be cleaned by using warm water alone. A “W” symbol on the tag means that you need to use a solvent in cleaning your microfiber couch. However, there are same type of sofa that have “SW” sign on its tag, which indicates cleaning may be done by using either water or solvent solutions.
  • Please check what kind of stains are on the couch. Liquid stains unintentionally spilled on your couch may be removed by using water and towel alone. Dip your towel on a container that has warm water and gently scrub it on your couch. Keep doing this method until you will see no stains left.
  • If in case you will see that stains on your microfiber couch are quite hard to remove by using water alone, try to use new solution that are solvent-based. Using your towel still, put a small amount of solvent on your towel and wipe the stained portion. Keep scrubbing until the hard stains are removed.
  • If the stains on your couch has odors which are quite offensive, use baking soda for this situation. Sprinkle a small amount of soda through the surface and leave it for half an hour. Leaving the baking soda on your couch for a longer period will eliminate the odors.
  • After soaking your couch with baking soda, use a vacuum cleaner to absorb all the baking soda residue and to remove all the dust and dirt around it including its corners.
  • In case you accidentally spill water on your couch, simply blot it with a rag or clean cloth to remove the liquid immediately. Keep your eyes on your couch always because once you did not removed the spilled liquid on your couch, there is a tendency that it will form like beads on your sofa.
  • If you want to do a general cleaning, you may use mild detergent soaps and mix it with warm water. Stir it thoroughly for better results. Dip a clean towel and scrub all surfaces of your microfiber couch. For those couches that has “W” signs, use solvent solutions as well when cleaning it. After scrubbing all surfaces, get another towel, dip it into warm water, and scrub again all surfaces you wiped with soap and water mixture.
  • After doing this, let it dry outside your house under the sun. Always check it outside every minute to prevent too much heat from the sun.
