How to Clean Cement

Everyday, you walk on a cemented path around your home and everyday it gets even dirtier. Oh sure, you maybe splashing some amount of water to it to lessen the dirt, but decreasing the amount of dirt is not enough. You have to clean it thoroughly. Concrete roads and walkways do not look good whenever they are full of dirt especially after the rain and the mud is just all over it. Cleaning these cemented walkways around and inside the vicinity of your home might be annoyingly tiring, but hey, you have no other choice but to clean it. Cemented or concrete pathways on your home or cemented garage floor can be clean using these simple, easy and natural steps:

    1. The first thing you have to do is to get rid of all the things that may get on your way while cleaning the cemented floor. For example, if you want to clean your garage floor, you have to drive and park your car some place first. If there is furniture and stuffs on the cemented area you would like to clean, remove them first and put them somewhere safe.

    2. Once you see that there are no more barriers in cleaning the cemented area, you can already proceed with sweeping off the cement. Use a push broom to eliminate huge stacks of dirt and other trashes on the cement.

    3. Cover all the plants and electrical sockets and cords. Make sure that your pet is not wandering around the area because the next step will be sensitive and it might affect living things.

    4. Make a cement or concrete cleaner. Prepare a bucket that can approximately contain 5 gallons of water. Put hot water on the bucket and mix it with oxygen bleach. Once the mixture solution is ready, get a tank sprayer and transfer the solution into it.

    5. Carefully spray the solution onto the concrete area. Make sure that you entirely spray the cement with the solution so it will be more efficient and easier for you to do the consequent steps.

    6. Once you are certain that you fully sprayed the cement with the oxygen bleach solution, leave the area and wait for twenty minutes.

    7. Once the twenty minutes had passed, get a brush with long handle or the push broom you used before and start scrubbing the cement. Scrub the area as intensively as possible to make sure that you will eradicate all the dirt and grimes. If you are cleaning the garage, take utmost attention cleaning the corners because that is where most of the grimes go and it is often the most neglected area. Do not do this process hastily, instead, take your time and look at every corner and areas of the cement. The appearance of the cemented area may look uneven if you did not clean it well and thoroughly.

Cleaning a concrete or cemented area may feel arduous at first but once you get the hang of it, you may even feel enjoying the task and maybe make it a habit already to clean them once a week.
