How to Clean a Curling Iron

Hairs are basically one of the most precious and most loved by females. You spend hundreds of dollars to have hair treatment and hair done and spend your money buying hair care products. If you look inside a girl’s drawer, one thing you can definitely notice in one glance. The beautiful and silvery hair tool of a girl, it’s their personal property of hair curling iron. Curling irons or your hair straightening iron is the most used equipment in your drawer, right girls? But unfortunately not all of you clean it or you neglect the importance of cleaning it regularly. For your information, you must clean it to extend its service to your hair and if you won’t, you won’t only be damaging your curling iron but also your hair which is considered to be your crowning glory.

For you to be guided accordingly on the right steps on how to clean your curling iron, here are some of the simple steps for you to follow.

The materials that you will need are the following:

1. Damp cloth or small rag
2. Acetone or nail polish remover
3. Alcohol
4. Curling iron
5. Cotton balls
6. Oven cleaner (optional)

Steps:

1. Unplug your curling iron and wait for it to cool down or else you will burn your hands.
2. Pour a small amount of alcohol to your damp cloth or rag just enough to make it wet not completely soak.
3. If your curling hairs do have clips, press the clipper to clean it also.
4. Get your damp cloth with alcohol and let it travel smoothly unto the iron. This can help in removing the remaining hair spray residues from your iron.
5. Repeat if necessary.
6. In a piece of cotton ball, apply small amount of acetone. This can help you remove the unnecessary spray residues that might still be on the iron. Run it smoothly to your iron.
7. After that, get your damp cloth and wet it with warm water. This can remove the chemical of the nail polish remover you just applied.
8. You can also use an oven cleaner too to make it shinier.
9. After applying over cleaner, remove the solution from your iron using a clean cloth.
