Your cutting boards are one very functional kitchen tool. Your chopping board is one kitchen tool that needs to be cleaned every after use. This is because you get to use them chopping your foods everyday. As part of proper food preparation and handling, we need to keep our food including our kitchen tools clean. Cleaning your cutting boards is very simple. It won’t give you much stress and sweat.
Materials needed:
- Dishwashing soap (liquid or paste)
- Scrubbing pad (2)
- Water
- Basin
- Vinegar and Baking soda
These are the following steps you can follow:
- Prepare the materials needed (refer above)
- Scrape off the remains from your cutting board using your knife.
- Rinse your cutting board with running water.
- Once you have completely rinsed your cutting board, get your scrubbing pad.
- Get your vinegar and baking soda. Vinegar and baking soda is a natural deodorizer and germicide.
- Get scrubbing pad and pour three tablespoon of vinegar to your cutting board.
- Spread the vinegar to the board.
- Sprinkle the baking soda to your board. Leave it at least 3-5 minutes.
- By using your scrubbing pad scrub the board.
- Place a pea size of dishwashing soap.
- Rub your scrubbing pad into your cutting board. Apply force to remove the vinegar and baking soda.
- Apply dishwashing soap again to scrubbing pad when necessary.
- Make sure that the scrub is soapy so you can remove the vinegar and baking soda.
- Dry the scrubbing pad.
