How to Clean Deep Fryer

Cleaning deep fryer is fast and easy. The important thing that should be noted especially in cleaning electric deep fryer is to turn it off and allow the oils to cool down in order to avoid burn injuries.

The things that you will need in keeping your deep fryer clean are sponge, warm water, white vinegar and paper towel. Here are the important instructions:

  • Make certain to remove any electrical connections. Empty your deep fryer and take out the basket. The basket fryer will be washed separately.
  • Remove debris build up using a brush or a paper towel.
  • Fill your deep fryer with warm water. Add your mild liquid soap and mix thoroughly using your hands.
  • Turn on the deep fryer. Allow the cleaning solution to boil for about 5 to 10 minutes.
  • Unplug your deep fryer again and allow the cleaning solution to cool down.
  • Remove the cleaning solution out from your deep fryer.
  • Get a bucket and pour in 9 parts of warm water and 1 part white vinegar. Let the vinegar solution sit for 3 to 5 minutes.
  • Brush off any dirt particles using a sponge.
  • Rinse off your deep fryer with warm water.
  • Wipe the surface with a dry old towel. Allow to completely dry for several minutes.
  • You can now clean the deep fryer basket.
  • Brush off dirt particles using a sponge and a mild soap. Rinse with warm water and wipe thoroughly with a dry towel.

You can also use equal amounts of water and baking soda in cleaning your deep fryer. Avoid using strong cleaning agent as this can be very hard to remove. Ammonia cleaning solution is also not advisable. You can also buy a commercial cleaner in keeping your deep fryer clean and debris free.
