How to Clean Drip Pan

Drip pans can easily get dirty especially with food debris and greasy substances. A dirty drip pan can destroy the overall appearance of your stove. With this, proper drip pan cleaning is important in order to promote a safe and sanitary kitchen.

The things that you will need are boiling pot, stove, warm water, towel, soft cotton cloth or sponge, mild soap and baking soda. Here are the important steps in keeping your drip pan clean:

  • Wash your drip pan with warm water and mild soap.
  • Scrub off as much dirt particles using a sponge.
  • Rinse your drip pan with warm water and set it aside.
  • Get a big pot and pour in tap water. Add ΒΌ cup of baking soda and stir with a spoon. Baking soda and water works well in loosening food debris.
  • Make sure that your boiling pot is large enough to soak your drip pan.
  • Place your drip pan inside the pot and allow it to boil for 5 to 10 minutes.
  • Remove your drip pan carefully and let it sit for 10 minutes.
  • Brush the entire surface with a soft cotton cloth. Pay particular attention to the edges.
  • Wash your drip pan with warm water and wipe it with a damp towel.
  • Allow your pan to completely dry before placing it back on your stove.

You can also use a paste of cream of tartar and vinegar in removing food debris from your drip pan. Apply aluminum foil on the surface of your drip pan before putting it back on your stove. This helps reduce dirt build ups on your pan.
