Earrings can also be a form of fashion accessories. However, an ear pierce can attract dirt particles and oils. With this, cleaning is essential to prevent any forms of infection.
The things that you will need are isopropyl alcohol, cotton swab and water.
Here are the important steps in cleaning ear piercings:
- Make sure to wash your hands first before cleaning touching your ears. Wipe your hands to dry completely.
- Remove your earrings and set it aside in a clean place.
Cotton Swabs
- Get a cotton swab and dip it into an isopropyl alcohol. You can also use other cleaning antiseptic.
- Wipe your ear pierce and around the earring area with your wet cotton swab.
- Allow the antiseptic to air dry.
- Repeat the steps in cleaning other side of the ear pierce.
- After cleaning your ear pierce, you may include cleaning your earrings.
- Soak your earrings into a solution of alcohol and water. Let it sit for several minutes.
- Scrub your earrings with a lint free cloth dip into your alcohol solution.
- Clean the crevices and back portion of your earrings.
- Rinse your earrings with distilled water and pat it dry.
- Use a microfiber cloth to polish your earrings.
- As soon as the earrings have dried, you can place it back into your ear pierce.
Avoid using hydrogen peroxide in cleaning your ear piercings as it can cause skin dryness and irritation. You can also use a saline solution in cleaning.
