How to Clean Egg Crate Foam

Keeping your egg crate mattress clean can be daunting if you’re not familiar with the correct cleaning process. Proper maintenance should be your major task if you want to keep its natural softness and achieve luxurious comfort.

The things that you will need are vacuum cleaner, warm water, empty bottle spray, fabric cleaner and soft cotton cloth. Here are the steps in cleaning egg crate foam:

  • Remove dust and dirt particles with the use of vacuum cleaner. Vacuum each side of your egg crate mattress pad.
  • Get an empty bottle spray and pour in 2 cups of warm water.
  • Add your mild fabric cleaner into the spray bottle and shake it properly.
  • Spray your soapy solution into the surface of your egg crate foam.
  • Let the solution sit for 15 to 30 minutes.
  • Wipe away dirt particles or stain using a soft cotton cloth. Pay particular attention to the edges and the spaces in between.
  • Rinse your egg crate mattress pad with a hose. Make certain to remove soapy residue.
  • Squeeze the mattress to remove excess water.
  • Place your egg crate foam outside your house to sun dry.

Sun drying can also kill bacteria naturally. Avoid using abrasive cleaning solution as this can damage your egg crate mattress. You can also mix white vinegar and water in cleaning egg crate foam.
