Removing Stain from Polished Floors

If you want to remove water stains from your waxed hardwood floor, then area stained should be rubbed with no. 2 type of steel wool. If the stains are more stubborn, then you can resort to sandpapers. After it, you should still clean it using steel wool type no. 1 or 0 with solution known as mineral spirits. The refinishing of your floor would then follow.

If you have cigarette burns on your floor, the hardwood should be scrubbed with steel wool that has been previously moistened with amounts of soap and water. If you have marks from heels and casters on your floor, then you should rub the floor with steel wool previously soaked in a floor cleaner. After wiping it to dryness, the floor should be polished again. In case of ink spots, steel wool type 2 and regular floor cleaners can do the job. Scuff and heel marks could be treated with a damp sponge which was previously soaped in a baking soda solution. Food stains can be simply removed by wiping them using a damp cloth. After it, polishing or waxing could be done to restore the shininess.

There you go. Follow these simple tips and you are on your way to a cleaner and shinier floor.
